This blog post is super special & dear to my heart.
I met my friend Kelley Smith when I went to Terrace Elementary in Richardson, TX from Kindergarten to the middle of 2nd grade. She was my best friend! I remember dancing to all sorts of 90's pop music at her house & I am pretty sure we even competed in a school talent show (Lord, help us).
We lost connection for a few years, but because of the awesomeness of Facebook, we found each other & reconnected! We become besties once again & were lucky enough to attend each others wedding! Not only have we been to each others wedding, but she came down with her (now) husband Josh to surprise me after my car accident & even came to stay with us before my little man was born to meal prep for me! Needless to say, I owe her big time & several visits.
Being such a supportive friend, Kelley asked me to make her a custom baby quilt for her dear friend's first baby girl! I was super excited & we had lots of conversations about design & ideas. Funny thing is, after several ideas.. we ended up going with material I bought when she was visiting me!
This ABC quilt is one of my favorite quilts I have ever made! Perfect for Kelley to gift since she is a special education teacher :) 
Kelley wanted this quilt to have the babies name on it, so after trying to figure out a fun way to do it--we came up with this idea! Having her name on the corner binding! This was the first time I had done this, but loved it!
*I can add a custom name or date to any quilt binding (as long as the material will work) for free*
Kelley picked the paisley quilting design because she wanted to bring some southern Texas flare to the quilt!
